The Cordova Pounders Wrestling Club Started in 1989 with only 7 kids, today their is over 30 kids on the team
Coach Ron has been coaching the Pounders for 10 years and has produced 10 state Champs,and 10 others taking 2nd and 3rd over the years.
At first sign-ups this year we had 16 kids and today that has grown to 20 kids. as coach of the team I expected to pick-up 10 more by April.Look for Cordova to take lots of medals in 2000.

Tim Fisher took third place in State in 1999, look for Tim to place again this year. Many of our Wrestlers are starting there 3rd, 4th, and 5th seasons. This year we have 4 first year wrestlers.

Western Regional Champs
|
We took four kids to Western Regionals in 1998 and sent only one in 1999. John Wiese and Brother James, also Nevada Start and Chris Platt. Four kids and 7 medals, Wrestling both Freestyle and Greco our boys brought home 2 1st, 3 second places and 2 3rd place medals.In 1999 Chris Platt placed 1st and 2nd in both styles. Then Chris went on to place at nationals. Chris also wrestled at the tulsa Nationals. Chris Platt has never lost in the state of Alaska for seven years. Great Job Chris.
